Lola, a true-crime podcaster, returns home for Christmas only to face a vengeful ghost reenacting the murders of a historical killer. With her community at risk, she must confront the town's buried secrets to stop the slaughter.
This poorly rated paranormal comedy has been a victim of review bombing, we believe that's because it features a trans protagonist; the queer elements are weaved in without preaching or being heavy handed.
It has a unique story, following the Christmas events of a true crime podcaster returning to their hometown, which has it's own true crime urban legend.
The festive film punches high above it's low budget, it definitely has some rough lighting but it also has surprisingly good performances and gruesome gore.
We wouldn't say the film is very scary, it's more fun than frightening, with lots of campy humour.
This film is just over an hour long, delivering a good bloody slasher in such short runtime is commendable.
Directed by Alice Maio Mackay, known for making Queer Horror flicks.
