Dracula Untold

This dark fantasy is likely the only war film on our site that doesn't involve Zombies and it is definitely one of the most unique stories about Dracula; focusing on the legend of Vlad The Impaler (Dracula origin story).
The film has a unique visual style, with much of the background appearing like it was painted.
The CGI is excellent, particularly the transformation scenes, and it also aids the stellar action scenes.
Evan's gives an excellent performance, which without, the film would have been a flop because his character is by far given the most screen time; we would have liked more screen time and depth for some other characters.
This was originally supposed to be the first film in a franchise, but no other films were made, perhaps a director will revisit this story in twenty or thirty years and have a crack at it.
