"A disgraced internet personality attempts to win back his followers by livestreaming one night alone in a haunted house. But when he accidentally upsets a vengeful spirit, his big comeback event becomes a real-time fight for his life."
In the mood for something lighthearted that will make you laugh?
The film is a parody of found footage paranormal flicks while also paying quite literal tribute to 'The Evil Dead' (1981), much of that film's story, comedy, main character, and even scenes are paid homage.
This film is the directorial debut of Joseph & Vanessa Winter (married), this director duo is known for their short in 'V/H/S99' (2022), and they are currently working on an Amityville film.
The protagonist is so fun to watch and genuinely funny, if Joseph Winter wasn't the director, we would say he definitely could have a sketch comedy career.
The live feed comments that are on screen most of the film are very realistic and really add to the humour, must have been a lot of work to craft it all.
There is very smooth camera work for a found footage flick, no nausea or headaches.
It is surprisingly scary for a comedy, you might get some goosebumps, there are a few jump scares, but it's mostly silly good frightening fun.
Features Joseph Winter, Melanie Stone, and others.
We recommend watching this film under the influence with friends, this is great film to ease your friend that won't watch horror into the genre.
