Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark

1988

James Signorelli

Comedy, Original, Witchcraft

Introducing Elvira, 80’s feminist icon depending on who you ask, and Goth Queen of Halloween.
Elvira inspired a generation of women to embrace their sexuality, break away from social norms, and embrace counter culture.
She is most famous for being a host on tv horror movie marathons, she would introduce films, talk about the film you just saw, crack some of her trade mark dirty jokes, and even put on skits.
Is this film great? No, the plot sucks, but it is definitely a fun watch if you aren’t a prude, and yes, it is intentionally stupid; younger viewers will cringe at some of the 80’s jokes.
Has surprisingly good special effects, fun characters, and a great set.
(Yes, that is Stars Hollow lol)
There is a sequel which may be even better.
Features Cassandra Peterson, Edie McClurg, Jeff Conway, Daniel Greene, W. Morgan Sheppard, and others.
