Scary Movie

We would say this film created the horror parody subgenre, which became wildly popular for the next 20 years; of course, Scream, one of the movies spoofed in the film, is close to being a parody itself, it is meta and did not directly recreate scenes.
Interestingly, Scream was supposed to be titled Scary Movie, but it was changed to Scream at the last minute.
This original film spoofs, Scream, Scream 2, The Matrix, American Pie, and I Know What You Did Last Summer (many other small references).
The film is hilarious and clever, full of very crude and raunchy slapstick humour, a must-see classic.
Before the social awakening of the early 2010’s, comedy focused on making jokes at the expense of minorities in society, younger viewers should be prepared to be offended, political correctness did not exist yet in society.
You definitely want to watch this over drinks with friends.
