Witchboard

This is a remake of the 1986 film of the same name, but it is just taking the concept of something emerging from the board, the board itself is completely different than in the original.
The film partly takes place in 17th century France and the New France capital, New Orleans, in the present day.
There is some gore in this film, but we wouldn't say that it is scary at any part, definitely closer to a PG-13 rating than the R rating it has.
Directed by Chuck Russell, known for 'Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987).
The film is entertaining but half baked; we certainly hope that the director is just warming up after a lengthy hiatus.
There are serious issues with the story, plot, and editing.
The film doesn't seem to know what story it is telling, there is too many ideas going on at once, some of them don't feel original, and they are happening too fast; the film would have been better if it was a bit longer.
Overall, the film is worth making some popcorn and having a watch, just don't expect anything exceptional.
