Believe it or not, this masterpiece actually flopped at the box office, and it wasn't until a tv release some 40 years later that it became a cult classic and also the most watched movie of all time by viewership.
A magical fantasy journey with incredible sets and costumes and all manner of magical creatures.
Young children may find parts of the film quite scary.
Most people don't know that there are two earlier versions of this story in film, 'The Wizard of Oz' (1925) and 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz' (1910).
The production of this film is considered one of the most cursed of all time, particularly for actor mistreatment and injuries on set.
