Immaculate

The film takes a religious and pure setting, and turns that on its head, not revolutionary but the film is a fun, creepy, and frightening ride that unfolds slowly, reminiscent of 'Stigmata' and 'Rosemary's Baby'.
The star of the film is Sweeney, her acting carries the film, and interestingly the film would not have been made without her, she rescued the dead script and got the film made.
The set is incredible, the gorgeous old world Italian villa is a perfect setting, complimented by good special effects and a perfect score that suits the religious tone.
A lot of viewers find that this film is very similar to 'The First Omen' which came out the same year.
