Friday The 13th Part 2
1981
Steve Miner
Sequel, Slasher, Scary
This sequel is set five years after the events of the original, and the story follows a new group of camp counsellors at a training camp near the now infamous Camp Crystal Lake.
(spoiler) It is no surprise from the ending of the first film that the villain could possibly return, Jason Voorhees becomes the star of this now legendary franchise, although he has yet to don hie iconic mask yet.
The film has multiple cold opens which is pretty unique, but otherwise it follows the standard Slasher flick formula of teens being stalked by a killer until just the Final Girl remains.
Typical to horror films from the 70's and 80's, there is of course a nude woman.
It seems like they really didn't have a budget for the cast as there is very little dialogue or character development, and what we do get is very cheesy and stiff as you would expect from an 80's film.
The film has really interesting camera work complemented by a great score that is a perfect mix of orchestra and lakeside nature sounds.
There are lots of screams in this scary film, you might even scream yourself at the multiple jump scares and jaw dropping violent and bloody kills.
As of writing there are 12 films in the franchise, we do recommend you watch the next sequel 'Friday The 13th: Part III' (1982).
Features Adrienne King and a largely unknown cast apart from roles in this franchise.
