Ghost Ship

2002

Steve Beck

Haunted House , Mystery, Not Scary, Paranormal, Sea

A haunted house flick, but the house is a ship at sea.
This film is not a remake, no relation to previous films of similar names, although we could surmise that it was inspired by them.
The opening scene is epic and gruesome, if you are a fan of the 'Final Destination' franchise you will absolutely love it.
The sets are definitely a highlight, so well done, it creates a great atmosphere.
We really wish the film had been better at creating tension, suspense, and scares.
The film also doesn't have good characterization or development, we barely get to know any of these characters and we certainly don't get a chance to become attached to any of them.
It's a really great story with fun twists, but the film is definitely a missed opportunity; we hope it gets a proper scary remake someday.
Overall, it is worth watching, just go in with low expectations
Features a young Emily Browning, Julianna Margulies, Gabriel Byrne, Ron Eldard, Desmond Harrington, Isaiah Washington, Karl Urban, and others.
