The Evil Dead

This is an over-the-top cheesy comedy and that’s why its great, a must-see classic.
Stephen King praised this movie when it was released.
This was not the first ‘cabin in the woods’ horror film but it certainly is the film that spawned the subgenre within the ‘haunted house’ genre.
The film has two comedy sequels and two other kind of reboot sequels involving different "books of the dead" (so far) that are not comedies.
We recommend doing a marathon of the first 3 films, would be easy to make a fun drinking game with your friends.
The reboot sequels are very scary and worth watching too.
We also highly recommend you see the live musical when it is at a theatre in your city next, but you may need to wear a poncho depending on where you are seated.
