Scream 5

The “Requel”, this film is a sequel but also kind of a remake; the franchise has been reignited for a new generation to enjoy with a passing of the torch.
The film starts in the same way Scream 1 did, with a phone call while making popcorn, we even get a nude shower scene.
The film is still making fun of itself, but also, it’s legacy now, even more meta.
Director Wes Craven is no longer with us, and I think that shows in the tone, the film feels more serious and less goofy; but the new directors did a good job, he would be proud.
It is a little weird people in 2022 are answering their phone when it rings haha
