The Alligator People
1959
Roy Del Ruth
Supernatural, Background, Black & White, Not Scary
A mad scientist re-animation story, you would think this is a bad movie, the plot is silly, but it is actually quite beautiful; somewhat reminiscent of Frankenstein and The Creature from The Black Lagoon.
The film fittingly takes place on the bayou and what makes it great is that it is in black and white and it features lots of blood curdling screams.
The acting is extremely over the top, the special effects are cheesy, and the score isn’t great, but this film is oddly charming.
We recommend putting this on in the background while you play board games.
Features Beverly Garland, Bruce Bennett, Lon Chaney Jr., George Macready, Frieda Inescort, Richard Crane, and others.
