This 2nd sequel is a bit controversial and rather poorly rated.
What’s really controversial is Courteney’s hairstyle haha
The script cleverly makes fun of the real-life actors portraying their characters.
The film drags a lot in the middle, spending too much time on character development, and then when we get to the action it’s a bit too silly and cliché, the score also feels relentless in intensity.
In the 90’s, decades of leaded gasoline use had accumulated lead in people’s bodies, (lead destroys brains), causing a spike in crime which was wrongly attributed to violence in cinema, tv, and video games; the film comically debates being the cause of this violence while Ghostface slashes away.
Despite its flaws, fans of the series will enjoy this film, but you won’t miss much if you skip this sequel.
Features Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Liev Schreiber, Patrick Dempsey, Scott Foley, and others.
