Basket Case

This cult classic is weird, you will wonder how an idea like this ever got made into a film, but it did!
So bizarre, so creepy, we think this it is a must-see near masterpiece, only held back by some of the acting and pacing.
Surprisingly, there is another film with a similar, albeit much different plot in our database (you’ll find out which one someday).
Don’t Google the film before watching, or read a description, you don’t want to spoil it.
The setting in 80’s New York is an incredible time capsule of a period that big cities went through from the 60’s-90’s, younger viewers will be shocked at the seediness.

The film has two sequels, they are even more absurd and we don't recommend watching either because they are not horror.
In 2017, the film was selected for preservation by the Museum of Modern Art.
Interesting fact: Frank Henenlotter, the writer and director, was motivated to make the movie because he believed that nobody would ever see it.
